Police Report: Dec. 28

1The rear patio door of a residence in the N53 W15700 block of Whispering Way was damaged during an apparent burglary attempt sometime before Dec. 12. A pry tool was used to open the door but was unsuccessful.

2A TV set was stolen from a residence in the W220 N8200 block of Town Line Road between 1 and 8 p.m. Dec. 24. Police have a suspect and are following up.


Two residents in the W170 N5100 block of Fair Oak Parkway called police after an unknown subject(s) fraudulently opened three credit cards in their names and charged between $4,000 and $5,000 on each card between Dec. 17 and Dec. 22. All charges were made at a mall in San Antonio, Texas, and police are following up.

3Two unknown men shoplifted three boxes of cold medication at Pick 'n Save, N95 W18273 County Line Road, at 11:12 a.m. Dec. 21. The suspects are described as two males, ages 16 to 18, with thin builds and about 5-feet, 8-inches tall.

4An unknown man shoplifted two bottles of Bacardi rum at Woodman's Liquor, W124 N8145 Highway 145, at 7:05 p.m. Dec. 23. The suspect fled the lot in a small, white four-door vehicle.

5An unknown man shoplifted two computer tablets, valued at $400, at Best Buy, N95 W16855 Richfield Way, at 3:15 p.m. Dec. 24. The suspect, a 5-foot, 11-inch tall thin male in his late 20s or early 30s, fled in a mid-90s brown Chevy Suburban.


6A 31-year-old Wauwatosa man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police found a pipe and a silver canister containing marijuana in his pocket after pulling him over for speeding on Mill and Marach roads at 8:50 a.m. Dec. 20. He was also taken into custody for having an outstanding warrant for contempt of court with Marathon County and was cited for speeding and no insurance.

7A 20-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of marijuana after the car he was riding in was pulled over for defective brake lights on Shady Lane and Main Street at 3 p.m. Dec. 19. Officers searched the vehicle after detecting a strong odor of marijuana and a bag containing 0.53 ounces of marijuana was found during a consent search.

8A 31-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of marijuana after police observed a clear, plastic bag containing marijuana sitting in plain view on the rear seat of his car during a traffic stop in the 12400 block of Leon Road at 12:55 a.m. Dec. 22. He was also cited for resisting arrest and had to be electronically shocked by police in order to be taken into custody.


9A 22-year-old Richfield man was arrested for drunken driving after he drove his truck off the road while traveling north on Appleton Avenue and Garfield Drive at 8:40 p.m. Dec. 16. The truck struck and downed a light pole in the 16500 block of Appleton Avenue and continued north, re-entered the road and drove off the road again, striking an overhead sign post in the 16600 block of Appleton Avenue. His blood alcohol content was unavailable.


10A 59-year-old Bayside woman was transported to the hospital with minor injuries after her car was struck by a car driven by an 86-year-old Menomonee Falls who attempted to make a left turn onto Shady Lane from Main Street at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 13. The Menomonee Falls man was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries and was cited for failure to yield the right of way.


11A snowplow caused damage to two vehicles parked in the lot at Wittlin's Service Center, N92 W17387 Appleton Ave., while clearing snow off Appleton Avenue between 3 and 6 p.m. Dec. 20. The snowplow launched snow from the street onto Wittlin's property, causing damage to a 1998 Mercedes-Benz E430 and a 1999 Honda Odyssey van parked approximately three feet away from the curb.

12A 33-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested for not installing an Ignition Interlock Device on his vehicle after police pulled him over for a defective brake lamp violation on Jacobsen Drive and Hiawatha Avenue at 7:45 p.m. Dec. 21.

13A 23-year-old Menomonee Falls man was cited for hunting without a village permit in the W132 N5800 block of Marach Road at 3:15 p.m. Dec. 22.

14A 48-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after she began ripping lights off a Christmas wreath at her mother's residence in the N90 W177700 block of St. Stevens Drive at 5:35 p.m. Dec. 24. The woman was apparently demanding gas money from her mother and was upset because she made her wait on the porch.

Menomonee Falls police responded to one domestic violence call between Dec. 11 and Dec. 24.
