Menomonee Falls approves final budget, levy
Menomonee Falls - The Menomonee Falls School Board on Monday approved the final 2012-2013 budget and tax levy.
Though state aid and equalized property value both fell, the tax levy was reduced by 0.4 percent.

Germantown - The Germantown School Board on Monday approved the final 2012-2013 budget and tax levy.
The levy tax for the general fund is $28,212,179 and the levy tax for the debt service is $735,000.
School employees encouraged to participate wellness plan
Germantown - The Germantown School Board on Monday approved a 2012-2015 Wellness Action Plan employees can elect to participate in and receive certain benefits.
The purpose of the wellness plan is to empower employees to achieve and maintain optimal health through continuous education and communication of wellness resources and opportunities to all district employees.
According to School District documents, incentives for participating include receiving gift cards, fitness equipment and possibly an iPad. The cost for the program is about $24,000. Superintendent Susan Borden said the School Board directed the Leadership Committee to find those funds.
Walmart Neighborhood Market officially opens
Menomonee Falls - Menomonee Falls' first Walmart Neighborhood Market, N88 W15559 Main St., opens Wednesday.
The market includes a self-serve deli, a wide variety of locally grown fruits and vegetables, as well as meats, cheeses and prepared foods. In addition to fresh produce and bakery items, the store will carry a full line of groceries, including frozen foods, meat and dairy products, and organic items.
Approximately 90 part- and full-time jobs were created by the store's opening.
UW-Washington County hosts free counseling sessions
West Bend - The University of Wisconsin-Washington County hosts free one-hour SCORE counseling sessions for up to 30 small business owners and senior managers Nov. 3 at its campus, 400 S. University Drive in West Bend.
Five appointment times are available at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m.
The counseling meetings are staffed by one of six certified SCORE mentors, with expertise in marketing, accounting, finance, retailing, manufacturing, social media, and merchandising, in both consumer and business-to-business environments.

Community Memorial consolidates procedures
Menomonee Falls - Froedtert Health has taken steps to consolidate cardiac diagnostic and nuclear services in Menomonee Falls at Community Memorial Hospital.
Some cardiac ancillary services that were previously performed at Froedtert Health Menomonee Falls Clinic have moved to the Heart Center at Community Memorial Hospital. The services moving to Community Memorial include all stress testing, echocardiography and nuclear scan testing. Select services that will remain at the clinic include EKG, Holter and event monitors, pacemaker checks, trans-telephonic checks and blood pressure monitoring.
In addition, Froedtert Health Medical Group cardiologists will continue to see patients at the clinic.
The Healing Place hosts grand opening
Germantown - The Healing Place hosts an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday to celebrate the grand opening of the new location of the center, W16760 Mequon Road in the Feronia Wellness Center in Germantown.
The owners, Lee Ann Baum and Peig Myota, spent the last year teaching and doing research in color, light and sound healing at the International Jamilian University in Reno, Nev. Using their training in technology with the ancient healing arts, they have established a healing center and the first body-mind color, light and sound frequency healing program in Wisconsin.
Both Baum and Myota have traveled globally, including Japan and South Africa, studying and presenting seminars on energy frequency healing.
The open house includes free classes, aura photo readings, chakra lights and sound healing demonstrations, angel readings, door prizes, refreshments, and a free drumming circle at 3 p.m.
