Kennedy Middle School tech department receives award

March 17, 2014

Germantown — Kennedy Middle School's technical education program was chosen to receive the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association Program of Excellence Award for middle schools.

The ITEEA is a professional organization that promotes "technological literacy for all by supporting the teaching of technology and engineering and promoting the professionalism of those engaged in these pursuits," according to the ITEEA website.

Superintendent Jeff Holmes said he believes "this is an outstanding achievement for Kennedy's technical education department."

Holmes recommended the board release money to allow two technology instructors to travel to the organization's annual conference in Orlando, Fla., to accept the award. No action was taken, as of yet.
