Germantown Police Report: July 10, 2014

1A resident reported finding a motorcycle with North Dakota license plates and a motorcycle helmet lying in a ditch in the W141 N9700 block of Knollcrest Court at about 6 a.m. on Saturday, July 5. Police located an open garage door at a residence on Amber Drive containing vehicles with North Dakota plates, and the homeowner said his motorcycle must have been stolen out of his garage.


2A resident in the W158 N10800 block of Captains Court reported her green and yellow recycling bin was stolen at about 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2.

3A woman was arrested for shoplifting (second offense) at Fleet Farm, N96 W18200 County Line Road, after she was detained for concealing an undisclosed amount of merchandise and then became uncooperative with employees at about 3:25 p.m. on Thursday, July 3.

4A resident reported an unknown person(s) stole several personal items out of her silver 2005 Volkswagen Passat parked in the N104 W14600 block of Heritage Hills Parkway at 5:55 a.m. on Saturday, July 5. The report did not say whether the vehicle was locked or unlocked when the theft occurred.

5A resident in the N101 W14600 block of Raintree Drive reported her fiance's gold 2005 Chevy Equinox was broken into and two of her credit cards were stolen at about 7:25 a.m. on Saturday, July 5. The credit cards were used to make fraudulent purchases at a Speedway gas station on 84th and Appleton in Milwaukee.

6A resident in the N103 W19900 block of Woodland Drive reported his wallet and an undisclosed amount of money were stolen from his 2013 Volkswagen Passat at about 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 5.

7An unknown person(s) stole a laptop computer out of an unlocked vehicle parked in the N103 W14900 block of Windsong Circle sometime between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 5.

8An employee at Fleet Farm, N96 W18200 County Line Road, reported a man who was carrying a handgun was being held for shoplifting after he was seen concealing merchandise at about 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 6. It was discovered the suspect did have a valid concealed carry permit and was cited for retail theft.

9A woman and a man were arrested for shoplifting after they stole two hand baskets full of merchandise at Walmart, W190 N9855 Appleton Ave., and then fled in a black Toyota 4Runner at about 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 6.


10An unknown person(s) broke out the back window on a gray 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee while it was parked at Panda Express, N96 W17698 County Line Road, at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2.

11A resident in the W168 N11500 block of El Camino Drive reported someone threw something at her bedroom window and shattered it at about 7:30 a.m. on Friday, July 4.


12A resident in the N114 W15900 block of Sylvan Circle reported that while he was viewing pornography on his computer an FBI page popped, froze the computer, and requested $300 at about 12:15 p.m. on Friday, July 4. The resident was told it was a virus and he would have to have it corrected on his own.

13Police received a report that a man was abusing his dog in front of the fire station in the W162 N11800 block of Park Avenue at about 12:35 p.m. on Friday, July 4. The man told police he was attempting to train his new dog to obey his commands and he was advised about disciplining his dog in public.

14A dog bit a male pedestrian on his left leg while he was walking in the W162 N11700 block of Park Avenue at about 4:15 p.m. on Friday, July 4. The victim was transported to Community Memorial Hospital for treatment.

15A woman reported she received multiple lacerations to her right forearm from her neighbor's cat in the W170 N11400 block of Armada Drive at about 7:15 p.m. on Friday, July 4. An officer contacted the cat's owner and issued an examination certificate and quarantine order.

Germantown police responded to one domestic violence call and assisted with 15 rescue calls between June 30 and July 6.
