Additional summer school classes presented

Germantown — The school district presented a tentative listing of summer school classes to be offered beginning in June.

The course recommendations emphasized student support — helping students not lose any progress they made throughout the regular school year, said Brenda O'Brien, director of teaching and learning.

A proposal to run three classes — high school band, middle school band and game leader training for students in grades four and five — was presented to the board.

These courses have been offered in previous years.

Two additional courses were proposed by faculty: a 10-day Greek mythology enrichment course for grades four and five and a five-week genre writing workshop for high school enrichment.

No action was taken by the School Board.

The district presented the proposals for informational purposes only.
