School Board nomination

papers circulate Dec. 1

Germantown — Germantown School Board President Bob Soderberg and School Board member Lester Spies's seats on the board are up for election on the April 1 election.

The first day to circulate nomination papers is Dec. 1 and the final day for filing nomination papers is 5p.m. Jan. 7 in the office of the school district clerk, at the School District administrative offices, W13840 Donges Bay Road.

Woodlands Development

implementation plan approved

Menomonee Falls — The Menomonee Falls Village Board on Monday approved the precise implementation plan for the Woodlands development, which calls for 144 market-rate apartment units in five new buildings on the northwest corner of Appleton Avenue and Good Hope Road.

Next, Fiduciary Real Estate, the project developer, will apply for a parking space exemption because the number of requested parking spaces falls under the number required by village code. A parking exemption will have to be approved by the Plan Commission.

Board approves development

Menomonee Falls — The Menomonee Falls Village Board on Monday approved a development agreement between the village and Lilly Creek LLC for the Lilly Creek Townhomes condominium expansion in a planned residential development district.

Before construction can begin, the developer will provide the village with construction plans for sanitary sewer facilities and municipal water.

Falls trustee hosts

her first Town Hall meeting

Menomonee Falls — Village Trustee Bonnie Lemmer is hosting her first town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Menomonee Falls Public Library, N8436 Pilgrim Road. Lemmer pledged during her campaign to be available to village residents and the town hall meetings will be one of the ways to meet that goal.

Menomonee Falls Police Chief Anna Ruzinski will give a short talk on the Police Department. An informational session about current developments and the downtown area, as well as a question and answer period will follow.

Best Western hotel in Germantown opens

Germantown — Best Western in Germantown has officially opened at W190 N10862 Commerce Circle. The hotel was previously known as AmericanInn Lodges & Suites.

Earlier this year the AmericInn Lodges & Suites was sold to Mukesh & Asha Dhanani. They ran it as Germantown Inn & Suites until they could do all the necessary renovations and requirements to qualify for the Best Western franchise.

Sensenbrenner announces

candidacy for re-election

Menomonee Falls — Rep. F. James Sensenbrenner, R-Menomonee Falls, announced this week that he is again a candidate for re-election to represent Wisconsin's Fifth Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Sensenbrenner was first elected to Congress in 1978, where he has served since. He and his wife, Cheryl, have two adult sons, Frank and Bob, daughter-in-law, Diana, and three rescue dogs.
